Nope, that didn't appear in Font Book either. I put a copy of Iowan Old Style.ttc in ~/Library/Fonts/. I trashed all font and Font Book related preferences. ![]() I rebooted back to my normal account, and it still did not work. I made sure there were no other copies of Iowan Old Style on my machine. It is using the local font.īut Iowan Old Style does not appear in Font Book or the font-selection window for any application. I created a web page to make sure it was using my local font and not a woff. Iowan Old Style displays properly in documents and web pages. I ran a validation on it, and it is perfectly fine. System Font Not Appearing in Font Book Still Works I'm on macOS 10.15.4 so Iowan Old Style.ttc is located in the read-only /System/Library/Fonts/Supplemental/. I'm on a macbook pro, running OSX 11.2.2. There's a lack of information for when this problem appears with a mac. And while there's a lot of information about how to work in this if this were a linux box. I'm guessing I have a corrupt or incompatible font, but not sure how to find it. Although I've cleaned out all the font cache that I know of by rm -rf ~/.cache. I've restarted the computer in a safety mode as well, as I've read that can reset the font cache. ![]() I'm working on restoring the machine to a couple of days ago but for some reason in recovery mode it's having a hard time reading the backup mount (although in my regular operations, I can restore any particular file through time machine. I've of course rebooted the machine multiple times. I've tried to uninstall Xquartz including all cache and plist references and reinstalling it.
